Northam Platinum Zondereinde Mine invites unemployed youth to apply for Learnership Programme 2023 / 2024.

Northam Platinum Zondereinde Mine invites qualifying candidates to submit applications for the Work Integrated Learning 2023.

These exciting opportunities are accessible to students that have studied at accredited South African Universities of Technology and South African Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges.

About Northam Zondereinde

Northam Zondereinde is an established Platinum Group Metal (PGM, Mine in the Limpopo province which produces some 300 000 PGM ounces annually.

The Zonderende Mine is the home of pioneering technology and innovation. both in the underground workings and at its world-class metallurgic infrastructure.

It is situated some 40km from Thabazimbi, in close proximity to the naturally scenic Pilanesberg and Waterberg Reserve.

In line with approved Social and Labour, Northam Platinum, Zondereinde Mine is looking to award Work Integrated Learning opportunities to students looking to gain a workplace experience to graduate.

These are existing opportunities in which the successful learner(s) shall be required to undergo Work Integrated Learning aligned to their field of study.

The learner will be given a Fixed-term Contract of Employment aligned to the duration of the learnership agreement with a stipend/allowance.

Work Integrated Learning/Experiential Training is offered in the following fields:

  • Mining Engineering
  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering
  • Environmental Management
  • Analytical Chemistry
  • Mineral Survey
  • Communications/Public Relations
  • Management Studies
  • Accounting and/or Finance

Northam Zondereinde will apply the Employment Equity principles as set out in the company’s Employment Equity Policy in accordance with the South African Employment Equity Act.
