About the Position:

  • Job Title: Apprenticeship – Mechanical Fitters
  • Location: Sasolburg, Free State, South Africa

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend theoretical classes at an accredited provider.
  • Obtain relevant on-site plant training.
  • Complete the curriculum for the designated trade as per CHIETA’s schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science (Maths Literacy NOT accepted).
  • Technical trade-related subjects (Advantageous).
  • N3 Certificate including Mathematics, Engineering Science, Trade Theory, and a fourth subject as required by the trade.
  • Technical trade theory program quality assured by a SETA deemed equivalent to NQF level 3.
  • Relevant Engineering NCV Certificate with seven subjects at NQF level.

Experience:

  • No previous experience required.

  • Medically fit.
  • Age between 18-26 years.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to adhere to academic guidelines.
  • Willingness to conform to rigid performance standards.
  • High energy levels.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Produce work of high quality.
  • High concentration levels and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately and carefully.
  • Willingness to stay updated with advances in techniques and equipment.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
