- Reporting Lines: You will report to relevant line managers within Table Mountain National Park.
About SANParks: SANParks is responsible for overseeing the conservation of South Africa’s biodiversity, landscapes, and heritage assets through a system of national parks. They also aim to involve South Africans in biodiversity initiatives and promote synergy with neighboring communities for educational and socioeconomic benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities: The General Workers will be responsible for various tasks related to maintenance, cleaning, administrative duties, admission management, and more within Table Mountain National Park. The duties include:
- General maintenance and upkeep of the park.
- Cleaning of facilities and visitor areas.
- Basic administrative tasks.
- Assisting with admission management.
- Maintenance of tourism facilities.
- Refuse removal and cleaning.
- Basic traffic management and access control.
- Information dissemination.
- Wildfire suppression if required.
- Patrols, inspections, and other ad hoc tasks.
Requirements: To be eligible for these positions, you should meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Standard 10).
- 1-2 years of practical work experience in a similar working environment.
- Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and First Aid.
- A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
- SARS Tax Reference.
- Clear Criminal Record.
- Proficiency in English and other local languages.
- Must be physically fit to work long hours on your feet in varying weather conditions.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays between December 15, 2023, and January 15, 2024, as per operational requirements.
