Sibikwa Arts Centre invites South African unemployed youth to apply for Internship Programme 2022 / 2023.

Are you energetic, reliable, innovative, and looking to build a career in the creative industries? Are you passionate about Arts Administration, Marketing, or Performing Arts? Are you interested in art performance, education, and advocacy? If you answered yes to these questions, then this opportunity might be for you!

Sibikwa Arts Centre is seeking 7 young creatives to join our organization as part of the FirstRand First Job internship programme.

x1 Marketing Intern with a completed qualification in Graphic Design to design marketing material and assist with developing, implementing, and monitoring media, marketing, and publicity strategies and plans. The applicant must be able to provide examples of marketing material (e.g. posters, flyers, logos, etc.) that they have designed.

x1 Admin and Finance Intern to provide organizational secretarial assistance and support the Finance Administrator and Project Managers with financial administration and project management tasks. Completed Project or Financial Administration qualification required.

x1 Videography and 4 Performing Arts Interns to form a Female Performing Arts Ensemble that will create and stage multidisciplinary performances. A strong theatre background, with training and experience in videography, drama, music, or dance, is required.

This is a 12-month, full-time internship, starting 1 July 2022. The 7 successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R3 756. As part of this internship programme, R13 000 is made available to each intern for further training.

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens from any ethnic group or gender identification
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
  • Have a minimum qualification of matric
  • Not have been employed in a full-time position before
  • Have an eagerness to learn and proficient skills in computer programs (Word, Excel, etc.), writing, communication, and time management
  • Have experience in and a passion for the arts
