Job Title: Cabin Crew
Job Purpose
The Cabin Crew member is responsible for ensuring the on-board safety of the Airline’s customers and providing a 5-star customer experience in line with SAA’s Customer Service Standards. The role involves ensuring compliance with service procedures and duties for the aircraft type operated, resolving conflicts, promoting the corporate brand, and maintaining the company’s image. Reporting non-compliances to the Purser and/or Commander is also part of the role.
Principal Accountabilities
- Understand and implement the Inflight Services strategy.
- Support the implementation of the Inflight Operations strategy.
- Contribute to budget management and cost containment on-board.
- Ensure correct application of processes and systems.
- Utilize resources effectively and enhance customer requirements.
- Adhere to Governance and Risk Management policies.
- Deliver timely reports to stakeholders.
- Participate in optimization programs and projects.
- Ensure safety of customers and crew on-board.
- Manage emergency and medical situations.
- Provide high-quality service to customers and crew.
- Maintain interaction with customers, flight deck crew, Purser, and cabin crew.
- Assist in maintaining crew well-being.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, standards, and relevant legislation.
- Report non-compliance to Company Standards to the Purser and/or Commander.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12
- A relevant 3-year Diploma at NQF level 6 is an advantage.
- A CCM qualification obtained in the last 5 years is an advantage.

- Fluency in English
- Ability to swim
- Height minimum: 1.58m
- Maximum body mass index of 35
- Fit in an aircraft aisle
- Additional foreign languages are an advantage
- Reliable transport
- Ability to work independently
- Well-groomed with no visible tattoos
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of relevant Cabin Services collective agreements, policies, procedures, standards, and legislation.
- Knowledge of legislation such as BCEA, LRA, industrial agreements, and CAA regulations.
