The State Diamond Trader invites South Africa unemployed graduates to apply for Diamond Valuator Internship Programme 2023 / 2024

The State Diamond Trader is a state-owned entity established in terms of Section 14 of the Diamonds Amendment Act, 29 of 2005. It is classified as a Schedule 3b entity of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). We invite self-motivated and suitably graduates who wish to stand out in their field to apply for the following internship vacancy:
Position: 2 x Diamond Valuator Trainees
Position Type: Two (2) Year Fixed Term Contract
Remuneration: R180 000 Annual Total Guaranteed Package

Requirements: Matric/Grade 12 with mathematics passed by 50% or mathematics literacy passed by 70%.
NQF Level 6 qualification in economics or business management
Skills and Competencies: Excellent analytical and numeracy skills, excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, attention to detail skills, ability to work in a team and IT literate.
Key Accountabilities:
The trainee will be trained and developed on skills that will enable him/ her to sort and value rough diamonds, understand the transformation of rough diamonds into polished diamonds,r ecognise producers and/or geographical characteristics of rough diamonds, understand the basics of diamond manufacturing, gain an understanding of the diamond pipeline from mining to consumers, administration that goes with rough diamonds production management, and dynamics of the South African and the world diamond markets.
