Thorn Castle is recruiting apprentices in the following trades:
- Welding Apprentice: 4 positions
- Electrical Apprentice: 3 positions
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have either:
- N2 qualification, or
- NCV Level 4 qualification
Workshop experience is listed as advantageous and is not stated as a compulsory minimum requirement.
Electrical Apprentice Skills
Applicants interested in the Electrical Apprenticeship should have an interest in or exposure to:
- Wiring different types of electrical panels
- Motor testing
- Fault finding
- Using power tools
- Using hand tools
- Workshop electrical work
Previous workshop electrical experience will be advantageous.
Welding Apprentice Skills
Applicants interested in the Welding Apprenticeship should have an interest in or exposure to:
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
- Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW / MIG)
- Welding positions
- Welded joints
- Using power tools
- Using hand tools
- Workshop welding activities
Previous workshop welding experience will be advantageous.
