Transnet Cape Town MPT – Driver, Articulated Vehicle Position

Transnet’s Cape Town MPT is seeking candidates for the position of Driver, Articulated Vehicle. This is a non-permanent position within the Operations department, reporting to the Operations Manager. The primary purpose of this role is to safely transport cargo from one point to another using a horse and trailer, ensuring a continuous flow of operations.
Position Outputs:
- Obtain documents for shift work.
- Obtain a checklist from ABM.
- Perform daily tasks and record discrepancies.
- Obtain shift norm from CC.
- Report all incidents/accidents.
- Continuously check the vehicle for defects.
- Check tonnage of cargo.
- Sign on to the operating system (Navis).
- Follow on-screen directives using RDT, which generates the movement of cargo.
- Load cargo.
- Acknowledge task complete at the end of the instruction cycle.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Code EC Driver’s license.
- PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).
- 2 years of relevant experience.
Note: The position is for both Terminals, Cape Town Container Terminal and Cape Town MPT.
