The University of South Africa (UNISA) has officially re-opened applications for the 2026 academic year. This opportunity is available for a limited selection of undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate diploma qualifications.
If you missed the earlier deadline, you now have another chance to apply for your desired qualification and secure your place at South Africa’s largest open distance learning institution.
Undergraduate Qualifications
Applications Re-Open: 3 November – 19 December 2025
UNISA has re-opened undergraduate applications for limited qualifications only. This means not all programmes are available, so applicants should check which qualifications are currently open before applying.
Prospective students can apply for Bachelor’s Degrees, Diplomas, and Higher Certificates offered in various colleges, including:
- College of Accounting Sciences
- College of Education
- College of Science, Engineering and Technology
- College of Human Sciences
- College of Law
- College of Economic and Management Sciences
Honours Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas
Applications Re-Open: 3 November – 19 December 2025
Applications have also re-opened for Honours Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas in selected study areas.
These qualifications are designed for students who wish to advance their academic and professional expertise after completing their undergraduate studies.
Master’s and Doctoral Qualifications
Application Period: 2 September – 21 November 2025
Applications for Master’s and Doctoral qualifications are still open and will close on 21 November 2025.
Students aiming to pursue advanced research degrees are encouraged to apply before the deadline, as late applications will not be accepted.
