University of the Free State (UFS) invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for Chefs Internship Programme 2024.

Internship Location: Bloemfontein Campus, Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa

Job Title: Intern Chefs (Contract: 1 year, 5 positions)
Salary: R8,293.75 per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals to a high standard in various food outlets.
• Assist with functions as needed and operate commercial cooking equipment.
• Ensure proper storage and rotation of food supplies.
• Follow recipes and maintain food presentation and portion control.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
• Provide guidance to kitchen staff and assist with food deliveries and inventory.

Inherent Requirements:

• Qualification in food preparation and cooking from a recognized culinary institution (National Vocational Certificate on NQF level 4).

Recommendations:

• Knowledge of HACCP standards.

Required Competencies:

• Results-oriented, strategic thinking, business acumen, leading, and building coalitions.
