x13 Data Capturer Positions Now Open at the Department of Social Development

Position Overview: Data Capturer (Post Ref: 02/104)

The DSD is seeking dedicated individuals to fill 13 contract positions for Data Capturers within the Chief Directorate: HIV/Aids. These positions will run until 31 October 2026, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the social development sector, particularly in HIV/AIDS-related programs.

Salary:
R183,279 per annum, plus 37% of salary in lieu of benefits.

  • Gauteng (Ekurhuleni): 2 Positions (Ref No: C1/F3/2025)
  • Kwa-Zulu Natal Province: 4 Positions (Ref No: C1/F4/2025)
  • Eastern Cape Province: 2 Positions (Ref No: C1/F5/2025)
  • Limpopo Province: 1 Position (Ref No: C1/F6/2025)

Key Responsibilities:

As a Data Capturer, your main duties will include:

  • Data Entry: Capture data for new applications or cases, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • File Management: Maintain both manual and digital filing systems.
  • Reporting: Compile and record weekly and monthly statistics, contributing to the program’s monitoring efforts.
  • Client Communication: Engage with clients to verify data and assist with documentation.
  • Administrative Support: Provide essential administrative services to the unit, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
  • Relevant Working Experience: Previous experience in data capturing and administrative tasks will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with administrative tasks and office environments.
    • Understanding of document management, tracking, and retrieving information.
    • Basic knowledge of financial, provisioning, and procurement procedures.

Essential Competencies:

  • Typing Skills: Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in computer programs, including MS Office.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Planning & Organizing: Capable of managing tasks and working within deadlines.
  • Customer Care: Positive client orientation with excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, approachable, and trustworthy.
