The University of the Free State (UFS) is inviting applications from unemployed South African graduates for its Internship Programme 2025/2026.
Internship Application Closing Date: 23 September 2025
Internship Location: Bloemfontein Campus, Qwaqwa Campus, and South Campus – Free State, South Africa
Duration: 2 years (40 hours per week, contract appointment)
Number of Positions: 15
Stipend: R9,100.50 per month
About the UFS Internship Programme
This internship is designed to expose graduates to the academic administration environment, providing them with valuable experience in areas such as:
- Student admissions and enrolment processes.
- Academic record management.
- Examination and graduation administration.
- Class and exam timetable scheduling (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions).
- Data management, validation, and reconciliation.
- Quality assurance of student records and documents.
- Communication with students regarding academic services queries.
Interns will also gain professional development through workshops, training sessions, and mentorship opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF Level 6) in one of the following fields:
- Administration/Office Administration
- Administrative Management/Public Management
- Business Management/Business Administration
- Communication/Public Relations
- Computer Sciences/Computer Information Systems
- Data Management
- Project Management
Additional Requirements
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft 360 and related software).
- Must not currently be in another internship/learnership.
- Must not have previous formal work experience.
- Willingness to sign an internship agreement with UFS.
