Transnet Freight Rail invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for the Young Professional-in-Training Programme 2025 (Reference: req3808 & req3807).

Programme Location: Kilner Park, Pretoria, South Africa
This two-year graduate development programme is designed to equip young professionals with structured mentorship, institutional training, and practical work experience to boost employability and prepare them for future roles within Transnet Freight Rail.
Position Purpose
The programme provides unemployed graduates (ages 18–35) with:
- Two years of structured training
- Mentoring and coaching every six months
- Exposure to functional areas across Transnet Freight Rail
- A tailored development plan that builds skills and work readiness
The initiative targets graduates from DHET-registered institutions (Universities, Universities of Technology, and TVET Colleges) holding a minimum of an NQF Level 7 bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
- Computer Science
- Statistics
- Mathematics
- Or a related discipline
Experience:
- No prior work experience required
Citizenship:
- Must be a South African citizen
2️⃣ Young Professional-in-Training (req3807)
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in:
- Computer Science
- Data Science
- Software Engineering
- Or a related field
Experience:
- No prior experience required
Citizenship:
- South African citizens only
Position Outputs (Both Posts)
- Participation in a 24-month structured training programme
- Placement in various depots and departments within Transnet Freight Rail
- Continuous assessment every six months
