About the National Credit Regulator (NCR)
The National Credit Regulator was established under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005. It regulates the South African credit industry and is responsible for:
- Registration of credit providers, credit bureaux and debt counsellors
- Investigation of complaints
- Enforcement of the National Credit Act
- Education and research
- Policy development
The NCR plays a key role in promoting an accessible and fair credit market in South Africa.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a 1-year post-matric qualification in Office Administration or relevant qualification
- Have not participated in an internship programme before
- Have no work experience
This internship is specifically aimed at entry-level candidates seeking workplace exposure.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Capturing data accurately
- Providing administrative support to the Registrations Department
- Printing registration, renewal, replacement and branch certificates
- Scanning documents
- Performing general office administration
- Answering calls and responding to emails
- Filing documents
- Attending to walk-in clients
- Updating registrant information on the system
Required Knowledge
Applicants should have:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of the National Credit Act
- Understanding of registration processes for credit providers and debt counsellors
- Understanding of the South African Consumer Credit Market
