Internship Location: Lion Smelter, Steelpoort, Limpopo, South Africa

This internship programme offers practical workplace training for graduates in Engineering and Environmental Health disciplines. The programme provides structured exposure and mentorship to help candidates complete their Practical Training (P1 and P2) requirements within a professional mining and smelting environment.

Successful applicants will gain valuable experience in a 12-month fixed-term contract, working under experienced mentors while developing technical and workplace skills.

The Lion Smelter Internship Programme is available in the following fields:

Engineering Internship (Electrical Engineering) – X1 Post

Qualification Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

HSEC Internship (Environmental Health and Management) – X1 Post

Qualification Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Management

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be in possession of a relevant National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be initiative-driven and results orientated

  • Location: Lion Smelter, Steelpoort, Limpopo

Internship Responsibilities

During the internship programme, successful candidates will:

  • Complete Practical Training (P1 and P2) with guidance from a mentor

  • Submit quarterly progress reports
  • Comply with health and safety standards in the workplace
  • Perform administrative duties and related tasks
  • Work rotational shifts when required
