Khashani Colliery, part of the Mbuyelo Group, is one of the company’s mining operations in Mpumalanga. The colliery supports education and youth development through bursary opportunities for deserving students who want to further their studies in fields linked to the mining and engineering sectors.
About the Mbuyelo Coal Ntimeni Colliery Bursary 2027
Khashani Colliery (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of the Mbuyelo Group, is inviting eligible South African students to apply for its bursary programme for the 2027 academic year.
The bursary will be awarded for undergraduate degree studies in the following fields:
- Electrical Engineering (BSc)
- Geology (BSc)
- Mechanical Engineering (BSc)
- Metallurgical Engineering (BSc)
- Mining Engineering (BSc)
- Survey
The bursary is renewable each year, depending on satisfactory academic performance.
Successful applicants will be contacted within 30 days after the closing date. If you do not receive feedback within this period, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements before applying:
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- You must be studying or intend to study towards an undergraduate degree qualification in one of the listed fields in 2027
- You must be accepted to study at a recognised and accredited university in South Africa
- You must have a strong academic record
- Preference will be given to students residing in Ga-Nala within the Emalahleni Local Municipality in Mpumalanga, although students from outside the area may also apply
Required Supporting Documents
Applicants may be required to submit clear copies of the following supporting documents:
- Certified copy of ID document
- Certified copy of latest Matric results, if currently in Matric
- Certified copy of Matric certificate, if Matric has been completed
- Proof of admission at a tertiary institution on the institution’s letterhead
- Full academic record, if currently studying, on the institution’s letterhead
- Certified proof of residence from the local authority or Municipality
