Agricultural Research Council (ARC) invites applications for GI Microbiology and Biotechnology Internships 2025

Internship Location: ARC-Animal Production (ARC-AP), Irene, Gauteng, South Africa
The Agricultural Research Council – Animal Production (ARC-AP) is offering two (2) internship opportunities for individuals interested in GI Microbiology and Biotechnology, for a period of three years (fixed term contract).
Internship Responsibilities:
- Contribute to projects by compiling and executing technical activity plans.
- Perform sample collection, preparation, culturing, DNA extraction, ELISA assays, and data capturing.
- Assist in managing project purchases and maintaining lab equipment.
- Compile detailed technical reports, and assist in technology transfer through presentations and publications.
- Participate in sectional meetings, seminars, workshops, and ensure compliance with OHS policies.
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc Honours in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Genetics or related field,
OR - BSc/BTech in the above fields with at least 1 year relevant experience.
- Must be a South African citizen
- Academic Record must be attached
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license will be an added advantage
