eThekwini Municipality Bursaries 2025
EThekwini Municipality invites eligible South African students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2025.
Bursary application closing date is 17 January 2025
The eThekwini Municipality Bursary Programme for 2025 is open to South African students pursuing undergraduate studies in the fields of:
- Architecture
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Property Valuer
- Quantity Surveying
Bursary Benefits
The bursary will cover the following expenses:
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation
- Examination fees
- Book allowance
- A once-off computer allowance in the second year of study (subject to compliance with the agreement)
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African citizen
- Have completed Matric
- Strong academic record
- Be studying or intend to study full-time towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the listed fields in 2025
- Be accepted or studying at a recognized and accredited South African public tertiary institution
- Preference for those who have passed at least the first year of study
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply
- Preference for underrepresented candidates (based on race, gender, and disability)
Selection Process
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an assessment as part of the selection process.
- If you haven’t received feedback within 3 months of the application deadline, consider your application unsuccessful.
Required Documents
- Certified copy of your ID document
- Certified copy of your Matric final results or Matric certificate
- Full academic record (if already in tertiary education)
- Proof of acceptance to study at a South African public university (on official letterhead)
