Knysna Municipality: Bursaries 2024

The Knysna Municipality invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2024

Bursary Application Closing date is 09 February 2024

The Knysna Municipality is offering the Mayoral Bursary Fund for the 2024 academic year to students residing within the Knysna Municipal District (Western Cape). The bursary aims to support students studying in scarce skills areas such as Engineering and Science.

Bursary Coverage and Selection: The bursary covers registration fees, partial tuition fees, book allowances (up to a specified amount), examination fees, and accommodation (if demonstrated as necessary). Successful candidates will receive the awards directly from tertiary institutions. Selection is based on both merit and financial need.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria:

  • South African citizenship
  • Residency within the Greater Knysna Municipal Area, Western Cape
  • Currently in Matric in 2023 or completed Matric
  • Full-time study intention for a scarce skills qualification in 2024
  • Enrolment or intention to enrol at a SAQA-accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
  • Preference for students from financially needy backgrounds and historically disadvantaged communities

Submit clear copies of essential supporting documents along with the application form. Documents include ID, CV, Matric certificate/results, tertiary institution acceptance proof for 2024, proof of household income, proof of residence, and institution banking details.

Submit applications via post to P.O. Box 21, Knysna, 6570, or hand delivery to the Mayor’s Office, Clyde Street, Knysna, Western Cape, South Africa, 6570. Applications via email or fax will not be accepted.
