The countdown has begun for the 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) October/November matric exams. South Africa’s matriculants will kick off their final school exams on Monday, 21 October 2025, with Computer Applications Technology in the morning session.
Major Exam Days to Watch:
- Wednesday, 23 October 2025: English Home Language, First Additional Language, and Second Additional Language papers.
- Thursday, 24 October 2025: Afrikaans papers — another big day for many students.
The exams will run across six weeks at designated centres including public schools, independent schools, and part-time centres nationwide.
Final Exam Week:
- Friday, 21 November 2025: Many learners will write their final papers, including Afrikaans Paper 3 and Economics Paper 2 — marking the end for most.
- Week 6 (24–27 November 2025): Reserved for smaller and specialized subjects such as:
- Music
- Design
- Dance Studies
- Marine Sciences
- Agricultural Technology
The final exam date is Thursday, 27 November 2025.
When Will Matric Results Be Released?
The Department of Basic Education has not yet confirmed the matric results release date. However, based on previous years, results are typically made public in mid-January.
