Road Accident Fund: Internships 2017 in Pretoria

Road Accident Fund is offering internships for the academic year 2017 / 2018 in Pretoria. Candidates must be unemployed graduates between the age of 18 and 35. The Internship program will run for a period of twelve (12) months and the interns will receive a monthly stipends during their placement. Take note that candidates who have already attended on an internship/ learnership program will not be considered.

Field of Studies

Supply Chain Management Graduate / Intern

  • Certified copy of a National Diploma or Degree in SCM, Procurement, Purchasing, Public Administration / Management, Logistics, BCom with majors in Business Management & Economics

Work based exposure;

  • Records management and related duties
  • Participate and contribute to contract management work
  • Participate and contribute to tender management and administration
  • Participate and contribute to request for quotation (RFQ) and related work
  • Participate and contribute to BBBEE and Enterprise & Supplier Development work
  • Responsible for reporting
Strategy and Planning Graduate / Intern

  • Certified copy of BSC / BCOM / National Diploma / NQF Level 7 or equivalent

Work based exposure;

  • Updating and maintain the filing systems on a daily basis and archiving files as appropriate;
  • Ensure electronic filling of all documents within strategy and planning
  • Manage all outgoing correspondence to external stakeholders
  • Responsible for drafting strategy and policies upon request
  • Desktop research
  • Policy and strategy development
  • Facilitation of all RAF business units strategic planning sessions
  • Coordinate all strategy and reporting activities.
Road Safety Graduate / Intern

  • National Diploma in Transport Management will be added advantage

Work based exposure may include the following:-

  • Assist to coordinate and implement road safety programs, initiatives and awareness campaigns.
  • Assist to analyse roads infrastructure challenges, facilitate for the implementation of remedial measures, (speed humps, signs, potholes and markings).
  • Assist in soliciting support for road safety interventions from various stakeholders.
  • Assist in promoting direct claims through all platforms where road safety campaigns are conducted.
  • Participate in Shareholder and Stakeholders Forums i.e. 365 Days Road Safety Committee, Road Safety Summit Committee; Interprovincial Road Traffic Management Co-coordinating Committee.
  • Participate and support the Shareholder’s initiatives such as Siyabakhumbula, Easter launch, October Transport Month and Festive launch.
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing RAF on the road- Road Safety campaigns.
  • Assist in developing road safety messages for various platforms of communication.

Human Resources Management Graduate / Intern

  • Certified copy of Degree or National Diploma in Human Resources

Work based exposure;

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to Resourcing Manager
  • File incoming correspondence, including executive summaries and staff request forms for processing
  • Record all recruitment complaints and follow
  • Assist in photocopying, faxing, and any other administrative function that, may be required from time to time
  • Screening of all job applications
  • Printing of screened job applications
  • Scheduling of shortlisting
  • Scheduling of interviews
  • Assist in compiling interview packs
  • Scheduling of assessments
  • Assist with arranging interviews and related logistics
  • Preparation of appointment files as per checklist
  • Assist with Coordination induction
  • Recruitments reports
Records Management Graduate /  Intern

  • Certified copy of a Certificate in Office administration
  • Certified copy of certificate in Advanced Records Management / Degree will be an added advantage

Work based exposure may include the following:

  • Records Creation
  • Records Maintenance
  • Transfer of Administrative Support Records to CAFS
  • Determination of Records Retention Periods
  • Disposal of Records.
  • Transfer of A-20 Records to National Archives
  • Transfer of Inactive Records to a Temporary Archives Storage or Off-Site Storage Facility
  • Destruction of Records
  • Litigation Administration
  • Implement paper-based File Plan in Head Office
Project Management Graduate /  Intern

  • Certified copy of a copy of a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science

/ Work based exposure;

  • Assist in filing project governance documents on the Enterprise project management tool;
  • Ensure that templates in use are in line with the prescribed methodology of the PMO.
  • Assist in organising meetings and writing minutes when required;
  • Assist with maintaining a movement register for approvals;
  • Produce daily reports and follow up with regions when anomalies are identified;
  • Assist in maintaining and verifying an asset register for the department;
  • Assist or contribute to making travel arrangements when required;
Panel Management Graduate / Intern

  • LLB Degree / BCOM Law

Work based exposure;

  • Assessing and reporting on panel attorneys’ work in progress;
  • Logging, analysis and auctioning of breaches by service providers;
  • Co-coordinating signing of and changes to service level agreements;
  • Establish and maintain a detailed contracts register;
  • Co-coordinating complaints and escalations relating to service providers.
Claims Graduate / InternLocation: East London

  • Certified copy of B-Degree or Equivalent at NQF 6 / 7

Work based exposure may include the following:

  • Direct Claims
  • Claims Origination
  • Claims Determination
  • Claims Finalization
  • Claims Litigation
  • Post Claims Settlement
