About Transnet: Transnet SOC Ltd is a South African rail, port, and pipeline company with its headquarters in Johannesburg. It was established as a limited company on April 1, 1990, and a majority of its stock is owned by the South African government’s Department of Public Enterprises (DPE).
Job Purpose: The Young Professional in Training Programme is designed to develop a talent pipeline for key roles within Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) through a structured 24-month training program. The program aims to place young professionals in specific areas within TPT based on their academic background, career aspirations, and business requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow a structured training program.
- Undergo performance reviews and assessments every six months.
- Submit monthly reports.
- Perform all duties as outlined in the development program and as may be reasonably required by Transnet Port Terminals.
Qualifications and Experience: Corporate Affairs:
- Qualification: ND in Digital Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications.
Continuous Improvement:
- Qualification: ND or Degree in Industrial Engineering.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong computer skills.
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Good administration and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Research skills.
- Ability to work within an integrated team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Professional attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Good time management.
