About the CPSI Internship Programme

The Centre for Public Service Innovation (CPSI) is offering graduate internship opportunities as part of its commitment to youth skills development.

The programme provides graduates with an opportunity to gain practical workplace experience that complements their studies and assists them in developing professional skills.

Applicants who have previously participated in an internship programme in any Government Department will not be considered.

Intern: Internal Audit

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Senior Certificate/Grade 12.
  • Recognised National Diploma or Degree at NQF Level 6/7 in Internal Audit.
  • Be unemployed.

Membership of the Siyakhula Student Membership Programme/Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa (IIASA) will be an added advantage.

Duties

The successful Internal Audit Intern will gain exposure to:

  • Development of internal audit plans.
  • Planning of audit projects.
  • Execution of audit engagements.
  • Preparation of audit reports.
  • Supporting audit committees.
  • Following up on audit findings.
  • Professional development activities for internal auditors.

Candidates should possess computer literacy, office-management abilities, interpersonal and teamwork skills, good written and verbal communication, client orientation and an understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Senior Certificate/Grade 12.
  • Recognised Law Degree at NQF Level 7.
  • Be unemployed.

Practical Legal Training will be an added advantage.

Duties

The successful Legal Services Intern will gain practical exposure to:

  • Drafting legal opinions.
  • Litigation matters.
  • Contracts and service-level agreements.
  • Drafting, processing and interpreting legislation relating to public administration.
  • Providing support on legislative matters.
  • Supporting work relating to the Public Administration Management Amendment Act, Public Service Act and Regulations.
  • Assisting with drafting regulations.
  • Supporting legislative reform processes.
  • Assisting with determinations, directives and related legal documentation.

Applicants should demonstrate good computer, interpersonal, teamwork, communication and office-management skills. Candidates should also demonstrate integrity, professionalism, client orientation and an ability to maintain confidential information.

Selection Process

Only shortlisted candidates will be required to provide certified documents on or before the interview following communication from Human Resources.

Shortlisted candidates may be subjected to:

  • A practical exercise.
  • Integrity and ethical-conduct assessment.
  • Criminal-record checks.
  • Citizenship or permanent-residency verification.
  • Financial-record checks.
  • Qualification and study verification.
  • Reference checks.
